ACCA Pakistan Leadership Conference 2024: Shaping a Bold Future for Pakistan

 

The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), successfully hosted its Pakistan Leadership Conference 2024 in Lahore, Karachi, and Islamabad. Themed "Being Bold: Managing Multiple Priorities – Climate, Talent, and Tech," the conference gathered industry leaders, government officials, and finance professionals to address today's dynamic business world.

 

ACCA Director - Asia Pacific, Mr. Pulkit Abrol, graced all the event as a keynote speaker Addressing the attendees, Mr Abrol highlighted the critical role of accountants in today's dynamic and transformative world, as they are more than fiscal guardians; they are economic innovators. He also said “At ACCA, we're spearheading initiatives in Pakistan to nurture accounting professionals who are tech-savvy, environmentally conscious, and adept at navigating the global business landscape. Our focus is on developing skills in digital finance, sustainability reporting, and ethical leadership to ensure our members lead the way in driving economic growth and societal progress in Pakistan and beyond. This is not just about adapting to change; it's about leading it for a prosperous and sustainable future,” 

 

The conference addressed key topics like integrative CFO thinking, generative AI's impact on finance, and strategies for a low-carbon economy. These discussions reflect ACCA Pakistan's strategy to bolster the accountancy profession amidst changing economic and technological landscapes.

Economic confidence among finance professionals edges higher globally despite big fall in North America

                                            The latest ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) and IMA ®  (Institute of Management Accountants)  Global Economic Conditions Survey (GECS) suggests that confidence among accountants and finance professionals edged slightly higher in Q2 2024 and is just above its historical average.  For chief financial officers (CFOs), all the key global indicators rose, with sharp gains evident in the New Orders and Capital Expenditure indices.   There were some notable regional differences . Western Europe-based accountants reported another decent increase in confidence as the euro area and UK economies continue to stage recoveries. Even Asia Pacific saw a small rise off the back of a huge gain previously, and the New Orders Index increased strongly.
